3-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Fez

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Depart from Fez heading to the desert. First stop in Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and at the Cedar Forest of Azrou to see monkeys in their natural habitat. Lunch in Midelt, then cross the Ziz Valley with panoramic views until you reach Merzouga. Enjoy a camel ride through the dunes to watch the sunset in the Sahara. Dinner, Berber music, and an overnight stay in a luxury camp under the stars.

Day 2: Discovering Merzouga – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga Lake – Palm Grove

Wake up to a desert sunrise and enjoy breakfast. Return to Merzouga on camels, where your driver will be waiting. Spend the day exploring the Erg Chebbi dunes, mines, fossils, and oases. Visit a Berber nomadic camp to learn about their lifestyle and enjoy traditional tea. Then, in Khamlia, enjoy a Gnaoua music performance by descendants from Mali and Sudan. Take a walk through a palm grove and visit Merzouga Lake, home to flamingos. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Ifrane – Fez

Depart from Merzouga after breakfast. Stop in Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, to visit its traditional souk. In Erfoud, visit fossilized marble workshops. Return to Fez through the Ziz Valley, the Cedar Forest, and Ifrane. Arrive in the afternoon and transfer to your accommodation or the airport. End of the tour.
