9-Day Tour of Morocco: From Casablanca to Marrakech

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Pick up at the airport or accommodation. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, the Casablanca Corniche, Rick’s Café, and Mohamed V Square. (Some visits may be moved to the next day depending on arrival time.) Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

Depart towards Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Visit Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Oudayas. Continue to Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue City.” Overnight stay in a riad.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

Free morning in Chefchaouen before visiting the Volubilis Roman Ruins (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Then, tour Meknes with stops at Bab Mansour, Sahrij Souani, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Arrive in Fes and overnight stay in a riad.

Day 4: Guided Tour of Fes

Explore Fes with a local guide. Visit the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), the Medina (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Bab Boujloud, the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, the tanneries, and the Al Qarawiyyin University. Free afternoon.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and at the Cedar Forest to see Barbary macaques. Pass through Midelt and the Ziz Valley before arriving at the Merzouga Desert. Enjoy a camel ride to watch the sunset and spend the night in a Berber camp under the stars.

Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Visit the Rissani market and a fossil workshop in Erfoud. Hike in the stunning Todra Gorges before continuing to the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 7: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Stop in the Valley of Roses and visit the film studios in Ouarzazate. Explore the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass en route to Marrakech. Overnight stay in a riad.

Day 8: Guided Tour of Marrakech

Explore Marrakech with a local guide. Visit the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Madrasa, and the souk. Free time in Jemaa El-Fna Square. Then, visit the Koutoubia Mosque and the Majorelle Gardens. Overnight stay in a riad.

Day 9: Marrakech – Casablanca

Depending on your flight time, enjoy free time in Marrakech before returning to Casablanca. End of the tour.
