5 Days in Morocco from Tangier

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier – Chefchaouen

On the first day of your 5-day tour of northern Morocco, you will be picked up at your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier, known as “the bride of the north.” We will start by exploring the beautiful city, visiting the Hercules Cave and Cape Spartel. After free time for lunch, we will drive towards Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, with stops to enjoy panoramic views. Overnight stay in a hotel in Chefchaouen.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Roman Ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

After breakfast, enjoy some time strolling through the charming streets of Chefchaouen. Then, we will head to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a well-preserved site recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its mosaics and ancient arches. After exploring the ruins, we will travel 30 km to Meknes, the Ismaili capital, where we will visit Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani pond, the Royal Stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Finally, we will head to Fes, where we will spend the night in a riad.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Merzouga

After breakfast, we will travel south, passing through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine architecture. We will then continue to the Cedar Forest, where you can see and feed Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, we will proceed to Merzouga, crossing the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and the Ziz Valley, with stops for panoramic views. Upon arrival at the Sahara Desert, we will switch to camels to cross the dunes and enjoy the sunset. We will spend the night in a camp that combines nomadic tents with luxury amenities, where you will enjoy Berber music around the campfire under a starry sky.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

We will wake up early to see the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, we will leave Merzouga to visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, famous for its traditional market. Next, we will travel to Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop. We will continue to the Todra Gorges, an impressive canyon ideal for climbers. You will have time to have lunch and explore the gorges before continuing to the Dades Valley, stopping at the rock formation known as “Monkey Fingers.” Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, we will head to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Valley of Roses, known for its annual festival. We will then pass through the Skoura Palms and visit the Amredhyle Kasbah. Upon arriving in Ouarzazate, we will explore the film studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. Afterward, we will visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its appearances in films and series. After visiting the Telouet Kasbah, we will continue to Marrakech via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch and photos along the way. Finally, we will drop you off at your accommodation in a riad in Marrakech. End of the tour.
