4 Days from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Dades Gorges

Depart from Fez heading towards the desert. First stop in Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and at the Cedar Forest of Azrou to see wild monkeys. Lunch in Midelt, then cross the Ziz Valley and the city of Errachidia before arriving at the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel with panoramic views.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra – Erfoud – Merzouga (Night in Luxury Camp)

After breakfast, visit the stunning Todra Gorges, featuring red rock cliffs over 300 meters high. Then, cross the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, with lunch along the route.

In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga. Enjoy a camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset. Dinner, a Berber show, and an overnight stay in a luxury camp under a starry sky.

Day 3: Exploring Merzouga – Nomads – Khamlia – Oasis – Flamingo Lake

Wake up to a desert sunrise and enjoy breakfast. Return to Merzouga on camels and explore the region: visit an ancient kohl mine (traditional Berber eyeliner). Meet Berber nomads in their handwoven tents. Discover Gnaoua music in Khamlia, a village with roots in Sub-Saharan Africa. Take a walk through a palm grove and visit Merzouga Lake, home to pink flamingos. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Merzouga.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Fez

After breakfast, visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and home to a lively traditional market. Next, explore Erfoud, known for its fossils.

Return to Fez, passing through the Ziz Valley, Errachidia, the Cedar Forest, and Ifrane. Arrive in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel or the airport. End of the tour.
