3 Days from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert



Day 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Valley of Roses – Boumalne Dades
Depart early from Marrakech, traveling through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N’Tichka pass, with panoramic stops along the way. Visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Enjoy lunch in Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Continue through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura Palm Grove before arriving in Boumalne Dades. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert – Camel Trekking
Explore the Dades Valley, stopping at scenic viewpoints. Visit the Todra Gorges, stunning canyons of red rock. Pass through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, enjoying lunch on the route. In the afternoon, arrive at the Merzouga Desert and take a camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes, stopping to watch the sunset. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in a luxury camp with Berber music under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Anti-Atlas – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Wake up early for a desert sunrise and return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. Visit Rissani, famous for its vibrant traditional souk. Travel through Alnif and the Draa Valley, known for its extensive palm groves. Pass through Ouarzazate and cross the Tizi-N’Tichka pass on your way back to Marrakech, where the tour concludes.
