10-Day Tour of Morocco from Tangier



Day 1: Arrival in Tangier – Chefchaouen
On the first day of your 10-day tour of Morocco, you will be picked up at your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier, known as “the bride of the north.” We will start by exploring the city, visiting the Hercules Cave and Cape Spartel. After some free time for lunch, we will head to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, with stops to enjoy panoramic views. Overnight stay in a hotel in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Exploring Chefchaouen, the Blue City
After breakfast, we will continue exploring Chefchaouen, famous for its blue and white buildings and alleys. We will stroll through its charming medina, filled with authentic blue doors perfect for photos. You will have free time for lunch, and in the afternoon, you can hike to the Spanish Mosque for a spectacular view of the entire city. Return to the hotel for the night.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Roman Ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, you will have some free time to stroll through the beautiful streets of Chefchaouen. Then, we will travel to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can admire mosaics and ancient arches. We will continue 30 km to Meknes, the Ismaili capital, to visit Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani pond, the Royal Stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Finally, we will head to Fes, where we will spend the night in a riad.
Day 4: Guided Tour of Fes
We will pick you up from your accommodation in Fes after breakfast to explore the city, considered a cultural and religious center of Morocco. We will start by visiting the Royal Palace gate and the well-preserved medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Entering through Bab Boujloud, we will visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, the tanneries, and the Al Qarawiyyin University, the oldest university in the world. Then, we will leave the medina to explore the Jewish Quarter, known as “the Mellah.” We will end the day with a panoramic view of the medina from an ancient fortress. Return to the riad for the night.
Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Merzouga
After breakfast, we will travel south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, famous for its cool climate and alpine-style architecture. We will continue to the Cedar Forest, where you can see and feed Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, we will proceed to Merzouga, crossing the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and the Ziz Valley, with stops for panoramic views. Upon arriving at the Sahara Desert, we will switch to camels to cross the dunes and enjoy the sunset. We will spend the night in a camp that combines nomadic tents with luxury amenities, where you will enjoy Berber music around the campfire under a starry sky.
Day 6: Exploring the Merzouga Region
We will wake up early to see the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, we will dedicate the day to exploring the Merzouga region, known for its dunes, lakes, mines, and oases. We will start by visiting an ancient kohl mine and then meet nomads in their tents, where you will learn about their lifestyle while enjoying a Berber tea. Our next stop is the village of Khamlia, where you will enjoy Gnawa music and dances. After lunch, we will stroll through a palm grove and visit Merzouga Lake, known as the flamingo lake. Return to Merzouga for an overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
We will wake up early to watch the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, we will visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, where we will explore its bustling market. Then, we will travel to Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop before reaching the Todra Gorges, an impressive canyon ideal for climbing. You will have time to have lunch and explore the gorges before continuing to the Dades Valley, stopping at the rock formation known as “Monkey Fingers.” Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 8: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will head to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Valley of Roses, known for its annual festival. We will then pass through the Skoura Palms and visit the Amredhyle Kasbah. Upon arriving in Ouarzazate, we will explore the film studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. Afterward, we will visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its appearances in movies and series. After visiting the Telouet Kasbah, we will continue to Marrakech, crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, with stops for lunch and photos along the way. Overnight stay in a riad in Marrakech.
Day 9: Guided Tour of Marrakech
After breakfast, we will explore the main attractions of Marrakech with a local guide. We will visit the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Majorelle Garden. You will have free time for lunch in Jemaa El-Fna Square and enjoy its vibrant atmosphere. We will return to your accommodation, and if you wish, you can stroll around the square at your leisure.
Day 10: Transfer to Casablanca Airport
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech. Depending on your flight schedule, we will travel to Casablanca, and if time permits, we will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest in Morocco. Finally, we will take you to the airport. End of your 10-day tour in Morocco.
